There's nothing like a pretty cake to make an occasion extra special. Yes, taste is absolutely essential but there's a certain satisfaction of savouring food that looks as pretty as a picture. As the adage goes, "we eat first with our eyes."

 

Similarly with fashion, there are also food trends that pop up here and there especially on the socials. One of them being cakes. Or rather, minimalist cakes, that feature usually just text (which are almost always lower caps) with some small design details. These originated from and were popularized by Korean bakeshops and cafes in Korean social media. And as a minimalist and Scandinavian design fan I was already on board and sailing this ship.

Aren't they just so nice to look at? So simple. So clean. So pretty. This list is by no means arranged from best to worst and not all of them are 'viral/famous'. There are still a lot of cafes/bakeries/home bakers that I missed but I can't put them all here.

 

Now, I understand that most of these are located in QC, but so far from my research there are a lot of bakeries and home bakers in QC that have 'minimalist' cakes.
