Vice Cosmetics 'Good Vibes Lipstick' | Swatches and Thoughts

by - 15 July

Priced amazingly right (Php 195) with gorgeous packaging and an even more show-stopping marketing strategy (hello concert launch party???) these lippies and the line itself rose to exponential
beauty status. Everyone wanted a piece and without even trying I understood why.

I decided to get two tubes of the lipsticks instead of the more famous liquid ones eons ago just to see what it's about. Read on to find out why I liked them but not enough to try more shades.
Aura (light Pink-mauve) and Good Times (raspberry) are two everyday friendly shades that are easy to wear based on the swatches I've seen online and the swatches I did on my hand at the store.

The bullet is made of metal with a matte finish. Holding it (and twisting it up) has a substantial feel and weight to it making it seem more luxe. I'm a fan.

Scent | Texture | Pigmentation

Upon opening you're greeted with a soft milk candy scent, think sweet vanilla. The texture is solid, waxy and legit matte. So no shine whatsoever on these two but I assume it's that for all the shades. There's some drag or tugging when applied and you do need at least two swipes to get more coverage on your lips but the pigmentation is pretty nice. I'm assuming because of the waxiness of the lippie, when I get to the inner parts of my lips I have to swipe a lot more to get more pigment on there.

Comparing the texture to Maybelline's Powder Mattes and Creamy Mattes, those were softer and creamier and unfortunately extremely prone to breakage as evidenced by my two tubes. These are more sturdy.

INGREDIENTS: Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Dimethicone / Vinyltrimethylsiloxysilcate / crosspolymer, Ozokerite Wax, IsononylIsononanoate, Carprylic / Capric Triglyceride, TridecylTrimellitate, Cyclomethicone (and) DimethiconeCrosspolymer, Microcrystalline Wax, Synthetic Wax, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Phenoxyethanol (and) Ethylhexylglycerin. May Contain +/- Iron Oxides (CI 77492,CI 77499,CI 77491), Red 6 (CI 15850), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Red 27 (CI 45410), Red 7 Lake (CI 15850), Blue 1 Lake (CI 42090), Yellow 6 Lake (CI 15985)

It fairs well when drinking and talking but once you eat something oily off it will come. Reapplication is needed especially on the inner parts of the lips but I find that to happen with most lipsticks I use. Because these are more 'nude' in colour, it's not as obvious when the colour starts to look uneven as compared to a bright red.

What I like about these on my dry lips is that they do cling well and my lips don't look dry and cracked throughout the day. I'm assuming because of the texture it creates like a barrier for my lips and fills in the crevices. But you do feel like you have something on.

A word of advice though, you have to put them on on dry  lips. So wipe off the lip balm before you put this on or it will barely show up because the it will just glide along.

It's extremely affordable for how it looks and how it's made 'Formulated in California' 'Cruelty & Paraben-free!' and the overall thought behind it. The apt tagline 'Ganda for all' very much embodies the whole company so far. I like their accessibility, great packaging, witty names, good formula and price-point.

I wouldn't go out and try more of their shades though as I wasn't completely in love with the texture. I felt it on my lips and although it lasted long the waxy texture that doesn't completely cover my inner lips is something I can't get behind on.

Have you tried this? Or anything else from their line? Let me know!
